With busy work-life responsibilities, we all experience various levels of stress on a regularly basis. Typically, the cause of this stress can be easily identified, such as from meeting a deadline at work to worries about finances to caring for young children. But what happens when that stress progresses to an unmanageable level? Or when the source of your stress is unknown? Or when that stress starts impacting your job performance?
The line between stress and anxiety can be hard to determine, but both can ultimately lead to burnout. As demonstrated with the Great Resignation, many employees are leaving the workplace to escape the burnout and find greater work-life balance. As an employer, it is important to recognize and adapt your workplace to identify the signs of stress, anxiety and burnout and discover ways to mediate them to retain a healthy workforce.

Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to live a healthy life regardless of their background or circumstance. The COVID-19 pandemic amplified the magnitude of inequities throughout various communities within the U.S. and thrusted terms like health equity, health disparities and social determinants of health into the spotlight, creating an opportunity for national discussion. But what do these terms mean and how are they interconnected?
During this Master Class webinar, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan experts Bridget Hurd and Michael Kobernick, MD, will take a closer look at defining these terms, the obstacles that exist to achieving equitable health as well as discuss how social determinants impacts health outcomes. We will also discuss actions you can take to address health equity in your workplace and efforts Blue Cross is taking to make meaningful and measurable progress to improve health and health care disparities and address social determinants of health.
